Fertilizers: new data on exports, imports, stocks

For 10 months of 2019, Ukraine purchased on foreign markets 85,844 tons of phosphorus mineral or chemical fertilizers worth $ 20,6131 thousand, the State Fiscal Service reports.

In January-October of this year, the import of fertilizers with 2-3 nutrients N, P, K (group 31 products in packages of no more than 10 kg (gross) amounted to 1776925 tons in the amount of $ 707 247 thousand in dollar terms.

Last year, external purchases of phosphorus fertilizers reached 141,073 tons worth $ 35054 thousand. In 2017, imports of mineral or chemical phosphorus fertilizers amounted to 35 411 tons worth $ 5 987 thousand.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, as of November 1, 2019, agricultural producers have prepared 780 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers (including 211.744 thousand tons of phosphate fertilizers from the necessary 195.747 thousand tons and 156.115 thousand tons of potash out of the necessary 153.674 thousand tons) in terms of nutrients with the need of 736.652 thousand tons.

During the period from January to August of this year, Ukrainian farmers imported 3.61 million tons of fertilizers worth $ 955.3 million in dollar terms. In particular, purchased: 67.6 thousand tons of phosphorus fertilizers, mineral or chemical, in the amount of $ 15.9 million; 138.3 thousand tons of potash mineral or chemical fertilizers in the amount of $ 40.9 million; 1.5 million tons of NPK fertilizers worth $ 595.5 million; 1.29 million tons of mineral or chemical nitrogen fertilizers in the amount of $ 303 million

As of November 1, 2018, agricultural enterprises procured 776.13 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers.

According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, for the period from January to October, the export of ammonia from our country amounted to 19 thousand tons in the amount of $ 4.4 million.

For 10 months, Ukrainian producers sent 620.7 thousand tons of nitrogen fertilizers to the foreign markets in the amount of $ 137.7 million. Export of potash fertilizers amounted to 1.497 thousand tons in the amount of $ 430 thousand. Also, the total external supply of fertilizers with two, three elements (NPK ) amounted to 4.141 thousand tons worth $ 4.1 million.
