Grain and oilseed production growth projected

The Ukrainian Grain Association (UZA) in its August forecast foresees an increase in the production of grain and oilseeds in 2019/2020 MY to 95.2 million tons (previously forecasted to 94.7 million tons). The growth of external supplies is also expected: up to 58.2 million tons (56.9 million tons).

In terms of crops, it looks like this: barley production – 8.6 million tons (previously forecasted at 8.4 million tons), exports – 4.7 million tons (4.9 million tons), wheat production – 27.7 million tons ( against 28.9 million tons in the previous forecast), exports – 21 million tons (20 million tons), corn production – 34.5 million tons (32.2 million tons), exports – 27 million tons (26 million tons).

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine predicts grain crop growth in 2019 under favorable conditions up to 70.8 million tons against 70.1 million tons a year earlier.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) predicts a grain harvest in Ukraine this year at 72.6 million tons, and external deliveries at 51.4 million tons.
